I seem to accidentally post to Home often instead of Public. I am not fully understanding the purpose of posting to Home.

When you're in the home section you are private and can edit your (future) posts.
Home stream is private by default, so threads you create there can be used for private writing: notes, diary, private ai chat and image generation, drafting threads for later publication to Public stream
you can also mention any user in a private thread to invite them for DMs or group chat if you mention multiple people

if you change it to public make sure to give it a upvote or a reply, so it shows up on the latest timeline, else it's sorted in when it was written first.
