Over and over, I see the question, Why Like? Here is the definitive answer: You received value so you pay for it and hope for more. If you don't believe in paying for valuable information, you're what is known as a "Socialist".

No. The option to like after value has been given is plain altruism, like giving a tip. This won’t work for mass adoption. The “like” is a familiar attribute of the economics of past social media. Eventually we will experiment it into something new here.

Yeah it's like a person that plays great music on the street corner. If no one ever tips/pays, they will move to another corner. And you who thinks you shouldn't pay can go on being ignorant. In a way, such a vendor is relying on socialism.

I think it would work a lot better if it was only 1 or 2 cents to like something also. I don't understand the reasoning behind paying only 2 cents to Twetch, but 10 to like a post. It seems backwards to me?

Twetch ·

But likes in the traditional sense will become obsolete and evolve into something more productive economically. It’s fun to watch it evolve.

If I priced it at 10 cents it would be a sign that I plan to start paying referral fees out of that money. That would allow most quality posters to pay for their Twetch activity and charismatics to get seriously paid. Assuming grouping features exist.

This is a brand new way to monetize ourselves. We have to be creative. Maybe promise to pay a like for answers to a question/research you need input for. Pay a like for the first 10 people to respond to your poll, etc.. Some users are doing this already.

replies (that typo will haunt me onchain forever) lol

I like the way you’re thinking about making it more seamless. 👏👏👏

Twetch ·

I think it can be more seamless. If you like things and your followers/subscribers see something directly because of you, and Like it, you can automatically get a slice of that Like pie due to code that ID'd you as referrer.

Maybe make the “like” be a minimum, say 10¢, but have a slider option to increase the “like” payout to change the incentive. Example: “$1 like for everyone who promotes my music and replys to this with a screenshot/bitcoin transaction.”

Twetch ·

So, you’re thinking offer people to promote something for a referral fee (they verify their end of the deal w/a posted screenshot as a reply) and you “like” their screenshot as payment? Twetch should do this to incentivize Twetch promoting on Twitter!
