I see, but for note taking and journal , Dont u think people are more comfortable using offline apps rather than browser based apps. While using a browser, there is a constant feeling of your notes and journals not being private to you

i think you are right and this is good feedback... although pure offline has downsides as well, namely managing syncing across different devices, this becomes especially important when adding mobile to the mix... i think in the future we will solve this by having very strong encryption rather than going pure offline [[treechat user feedback]]
but for now we are optimizing for easily transitioning between single and multiplayer modes. for example any private thread can be made multiplayer just by mentioning another user, inviting them to that thread... and this requires a client cloud architecture. encryption will resolve this tension
