I see future applications developing on a ‘second layer’ to help ease the load on the main chain while allowing third parties to run them independently. In the long run I see it as aggregating data in a way to make it more compact and less of a burden

I do not see it as looking like Lightning, but rather apps running independently from the chain but using it to settle states. Example: twetch running its own server while settling the data on chain which would allow data to be condensed/encrypted.
The internet will run on bitcoin, but I believe we’re in the Stone Age when it comes to aggregating data atm
