Scronty's take on Bitcoin mining was one of the most surprising things on the interview with @4179. It sounded like he did not understand the obvious relation between the amount of resources going into Bitcoin mining, and the value of Bitcoin.

And not only that, he saw the above as a good thing, in order to catapult humanity from the burning Earth to outer space. What the hell man. Asimov transforms people into totalitarian "saviors". Don't trust people talking about the human species too much.
What does CSW say about Scronty? Corroborates some of the story, or dismisses it fully?
To my knowledge, he's only said he was a disgruntled former employee who stole a hard drive and got inside info to make up a story.
But another Jamie Wilson worked for Craig and it's possible he's confusing them as he never knew who Phil was?
Actually, once I think he said something like "oh he was basically an intern running around doing stuff" which is kind of a corroboration, both men seeing their role as more vital than the other.
Thanks Isaac! My impression of Phil from that interview alone is that he is not a scammer, and that he does not have the peoples skills to even attempt that level of social engineering. But it's also so strange with the memory holes and lack of emails...
Definitely check out the written version at vu.hn
It's all so weird, but seems oddly believable. He doesn't appear to have gained anything from his story either. Not a lot of clear motive for making it up.
Interesting lesser known Satoshi quote relevant to this.
The written version is so much easier to follow.
But keep in mind the effort is futile because Roy will be proving he is Satoshi in court soon and Phil is another conman
Where do I find that interview? Amazingly I found some of Scronty’s code on an older hard drive about DirectX programming. We now know that Bitcoin and DirectX have some interesting similarities. /cc @14
