what you are saying might be possible in the abstract, but has never been demonstrated in practice, I say this as someone building a novel tool of social organization, so I am sympathetic to this perspective, but an important way of viewing the history of conquest and empire is as innovations of social organization through government enabling the subjugation of weaker neighbors... for example napoleon wielded the first nation state capable of coordinating total war, Hitler wielded the first managerial state sophisticated enough to harness the technology of the industrial revolution, in both cases everyone else had to adopt the new paradigm or be destroyed... the world we live in today is a result of this survival of the fittest game and any ideal we espouse must first be able to survive an adversary
