It's a campaign slogan it's not supposed to be a specific policy. It's meant to embody the conservative ethos like "Hope and Change"
No one went "what specific change do you want?"

America was once the leader of the world economically and was the place you moved to if you wanted freedom (low taxes and strong property rights). First to abolish slavery etc (1777, State of Vermont becomes first sovereign state to abolish slavery).

Of course Zhell makes a good point as well

Zhell - France, Sweden, Spain, Netherlands, all banned slavery nationally before we did.

Also, how did we come this wealthy superpower? Was it in ways humanity will be proud of in the future?
Did it make the sum of humanity greater or worse?
Time will tell for those who don’t look to see for themselves..

Jedediah, If my slogan had been ‘Hope and Change’, I could clearly list all of the things I wanted to see changed.
I admit that Obama didn’t end up changing much.
Make America Great Again is saying that it was once great and isn’t now.
How so?

Slogans meant to be vague not specific. People will ascribe their own biases. Anti-Trumpers see it as a racist dog whistle and Trump supporters see it as a return to more prosperous times.
Twetch ·
That makes sense, Jedidiah. I don’t see it so much as a racist dog whistle as a sort of delusion.
I’m not sure how we can look back on our history and only see the good parts. No country is great that oppresses a portion of its people.

McPherson- by 1860... the nearly 4 million American slaves were worth some $3.5 billion, making them the largest single financial asset in the entire U.S. economy, worth more than all manufacturing and railroads combined.

I may sound UnAmerican in what I’m saying, but I’m not. I love America & what it says it stands for.
I simply refuse to overlook the white supremacy in it all. My issue is w/the detrimental effects globally caused by white consciousness, in any country.
Twetch ·
No one is doubting that white supremacy exists. But the media is amplifying their threat to an insane magnitude so that the average TV viewer now lives in fear of racists. And of course fearful people are easier to control.
