It's a way to buy proof-of-work to be attached to any message from a Bitcoin miner that is encoded as a hash puzzle in a bitcoin tx that is compatible with existing technology.

Can you give an example of when a user would want to do this?

proof of work is a handicap because it's easily verified waste. Handicaps are used to signal fitness. See https://books.google.com/books/about/The_Handicap_Principle.html?id=ImjqhNqjiqsC

I tried to boost my twetch post and it said it was going to be 2nd place for 24 hrs. And still i could not see my post. What am I doing wrong?

It's just that we can't satisfy demand with our current set up. Right now we're the only ones providing the service and we're not very good at it.

we'll be fixing this up soon so that everything will be cheaper and faster. In the meantime, maybe you can find another miner who will believe in the idea enough to try providing the service.

Users would use Boost POW to limit information when there's more of it than you have time to read. Handicaps are the best way to reduce information cheaply with the smallest odds of rejecting something good.

Maybe put a blue bar notification on the website and inform the user about the lack of miners and therfor your boost might not appear. Or shut it down completely and work it out first

The website isn't the problem. The lack of service providers is the problem. What would be ideal is if someone took initiative and realized there's actually real money in this.
