Well, not sure about that. The tips/upvalue that you get from the platform must come from somewhere.

we have to make money somehow other than ads. i think as the platform scales and treechat becomes self-sustaining we will start dropping the fee but in the near future i think 15% is fair to get to that point

Should be scaled like bandcamp. 15% for first $5000 earned, 10% to $50,000 and 5% above that.

And maybe have a 'happy hour' once in awhile to encourage spamming transactions.
