If you have enough room, plant a pumpkin, easy to look after and gives you heaps of food. I grow about 30 per year.

Butternut are good, I grow Jap because they are so easy, i haven't bought seed for 3 years, just get new seedlings popping up in the compost.

I don't have a compost, my chickens digg everywhere 🙈
I get new growsoil/compost mix with nutrients every year
mix it with existing soil and add horse and chickenshit
I also have like tomato/raspberry seedlings popping up all over the place from leftovers
