Here's a question I haven't explored, why, when smashing particles together in a particle accelerator, is there not a massive explosion? Does fission not occur? Are they not splitting atoms in a PA?

The explosion occurs in the old universe which is destroyed during the collision.
I really don’t know and would also like to understand the answer to this. It seems to me that the explosion is just really small?
Yeah I'm not a nuclear physicist so idk. But I thought the strong force, when broken, released a tremendous amount of energy. "137 times as strong as electromagnetism, a million times as strong as the weak interaction, and 1038 times gravitational.."wiki
$I know the answer.
What’s the answer?!
