For now, yes. It does move posts higher in the 'Top' section. Hope to see a change in the economics of this soon.

My biggest incentive is that the platform makes money from the transaction. Therefore can potentially not rely, and therefor not beholden to the whim of an advertiser who may or may not like the content on this platform.

Also, you can directly support (financially) an artist or content creators who is sharing their work, just by liking their work.
