It's funny to get a tip when you reply to yourself, but it incentivizes maintaining a thread as a conversation, over separate posts. It would be nice to pin/bookmark my desired threads so I can find and add to them anytime more easily.

It's not really an incentive as the tip comes from yourself....
It's not that the tip that incentivizes me, it's saving a penny. Not a lot of incentive but over time I think people, like I have, will realize the benefit of continuing trains of thought via threads and maintain conversations within the thread.
