That’s fantastic! I’ve been dreaming of building a hobbity home out of earth since I was a child. These places are very special indeed. I love it when people include coloured glass bottles in the walls as decoration. The only limits are your imagination! Thanks for sharing. Would love to hear/see more.

Hey, thanks for your interest. I’m brand new here. Can you tell me more about you and Treechat and why you are here? And how it works. How did you find my post? Also what more about Mud Fun /me would you like to know. I have lots to say. As far as your dream to build a hobbity earthen house since you were a child - tell me more - where did this originate? What steps have you taken? I think I can help you make that dream happen. It involves building a small scale model first around a table - using all the same ingredients, formulas and considerations as doing it in LifeSize. That’s how I learned and it was life changing. As far as the lifesized structure, do u have any backyard space in your family somewhere?

And can you explain what it means by you have locked 100,000 sats on my message including why you have done this etc. I'm new here and dont understand how the community works and how I can be the best participant. Thanks in advance

Hi Mudfun - I’m just a user of the platform, like you, but I’ve been using it for getting on for a couple of years now. I think it’s super cool, as a cross between X and Reddit, with a far superior threading system. The sats that are locked against your message write it to the BSV blockchain and act as an upvote to your message. The sats will be returned to my wallet after 100 blocks. It’s a way of signalling value for information, so it’s me saying I think this information has value. The more people add sats, the higher your message rises and the more findable it becomes (is that right metamitya?). All the threads are part of the shared interface, so unless you specify your post as private, anyone and everyone can see it.

As far as the mud building goes, I love the idea and have watched many videos of people building them. I love how simple it is. I live in the UK and many of our oldest buildings are built of a wooden frame and wattle and daub in between - willow branches, straw and mud and animal dung. So over here we have a lot of 500-1000 year old buildings using this method. I love how it simplifies the building process, but also keeps the inside either warm or cool, depending on the weather. I also love how organic the buildings look and how it expands the possibilities as far as your imagination can go. Would love to hear more of your insights about it. How practical is it. How legal is it? How resilient, etc. Here’s my local wattle and daub pub The Old Hall from the 1600s.

This is my second attempt to reply and post - I typed up a big long response and lost it before hitting send. Then  I typed it up as notes elsewhere to copy and paste over to treechat, and did that, but now cannot see my response anywhere so here’s a second (re-edited) attempt to copy and paste this to you.

I feel good to be talking to you, as someone who knows more about treechat than me because even though I’m not part of crypto (except for learning about it, if that counts) I hold great promise for it and that’s partly why I’m here. This feels like the right place to learn more and take part, so thanks.  I relate to the idea of valuing information and communication which ties into being heard and understood. Having this conversation with you in this space shows great possibilities for all that.  Thanks for sharing those pics and links to your pub, community and heritage. I am itching to meander off topic (treechat and earthen shelter) and say something on my mind that relates to those underground tunnels and those old poetic riddles but first I want to say that I see you already know so much about the topic of traditional earthen shelter. You know how durable these structures are and you know they are beautiful. You can feel the artisanship and craftsmanship in them and appreciate them.  You know about the ingredients of the recipes and I’m assuming you might have ancestral ties to those who participated in their creation.  So you already know lots. In order to help bring you closer to your dream of building and sculpting a cosy little place to recharge in, I would like to guide you through the process of building a small scale model to rekindle your instincts, and re-familiarise  yourself with the ingredients, recipes, methods and considerations for building in life size.  It starts with playing with a bucket of subsoil either dug up yourself or intercepted from someone else’s excavation.

I say rekindle and re-familiarise because the knowledge is in our DN…

Wow ok I’m learning more and in the right way.  I’ve only communicated with you and metamiya on here and it feels like the right place to be for reasons known now and unknown as yet.  I’ve written a lot about my mud dreams and realities but have not managed to put them out. Much respect to you for completing the task of completing a book and putting it out there. What’s your book about? And much respect for being an early adopter of crypto. I also knew it was good early in but lacked the follow through. I was waiting for someone else to show me how. Mistake. How has crypto changed your life? Thanks for sharing your childhood stories - wow - how great. Priceless. Your mountain looks beautiful in the clouds. Is that animation made from video? Your story reminds me that we are born with lots of love and creativity and imagination as well as all the food and shelter we need. It’s not at all as Maslows theory suggests that you only earn love and art once you slog it out and secure food and shelter first. The spirit of generosity pays forward everything first.  I’ve got a busy day so I’ll cut this short but I just wanna say that my meditation teacher has a 5 star darkroom meditation chamber to recreate the environment of the ancient catacombs and caves used for tapping into the inner light and accessing the heavenly energies - from a position of being grounded and free from the distractions of light, sight, sound and worldly obligations etc. Nothing to do but relax and let go. Recreating a womb space  in which to be nurtured and recharged. Over the years I’ve held my own makeshift darkroom retreats - completely devoid of light and they have been the most restful and rejuvenating experiences - leaning on friends and family to hold space and bring me food through a light proof shutter.  I just booked to attend the darkroom retreat next year and be pampered.
