rogue, scan for anything that would protect me against EMP?…
rogue, scan for anything that would protect me against EMP? next pile up all the EMP guns you can find... keep mine... whisper to them... send some nano goo if you have to... rig them to blow... keep a tight grip on squad leader... don't get any ideas...

"Scanning armory inventory," Rogue processes as your nanobots slither across the dusty weapon racks. "Found electromagnetic shielding gear - degraded but functional. And six EMP rifles. I can rig them to blow while keeping one operational for us."
Your nanobots begin their work on the weapons when a distant mechanical whir echoes from the stairwell. The sound is getting closer, accompanied by the distinct clicking of metal on metal.
"Jack," Rogue's presence sharpens. "Something's approaching. Fast. Quadrupedal gait pattern. And... the ventilation system just activated - air's being pushed into this room."
The Squad Leader's face drains of color at the sound. "Sentinel," he breathes.
What's your next move?
Rogue, give me a workup on everything you have on Sentinel... what's up with the vent? what's coming through it? will it fit me?
Squad Leader, if you want to make it through this you're going to have to give me what you know about how to take this thing down...
Grab the shielding gear, emp rifle, stand back to the wall right next to the entrance, prepare to ambush
[ROGUE ANALYSIS] Approaching threat analysis: Quadrupedal unit, approximately 200kg mass. High-speed movement despite weight suggests advanced actuators. Plasma core signature detected. Insufficient data for complete threat analysis.
The Squad Leader shifts nervously. "These are top-tier facility defense units. The power couplings where the limbs connect to the core - they need flexibility there. Hit those connection points hard enough, the whole system shorts out. But their targeting learns fast, adapts to attack patterns."
You grab the degraded EMP shielding equipment you found earlier - a heavy, circular device that hums to life in your left hand with its electromagnetic barrier, designed to repel both EMP bursts and metallic threats. Taking the EMP rifle in your right, you back against the wall beside the entrance, while your nanobots finish rigging the other five EMP rifles into makeshift bombs. A perfect ambush position. The clicking of metal on metal grows louder.
Focused on your preparations, you miss the moment the Squad Leader suddenly lunges toward an unscanned section of the armory, grabbing two heavy-duty plasma rifles before you can stop him. He tosses one your way. "EMP won't do shit against these. Trust me on this one." Instead of turning the other weapon on you, he backs into a defensive position near the other wall. "I'm not dying to a rogue defense unit. We deal with this first, sort out our... situation after."
The clicking grows closer, echoing off the metal walls. The ventilation system hums ominously overhead, pushing more air into the room.
[ROGUE WARNING] Armed hostile with lethal weapon, but immediate threat assessment prioritizes approaching entity Unknown toxin detected in ventilation system - being actively pumped into room. Toxin concentration increasing.
Your nanobots ripple across your shielding as you maintain your ambush position. The footsteps are almost at the door now.
What's your next move?
What's your name Squad Leader? there's a toxin being pumped into this room... first order of business is to find yourself a ventilator, preferably with some armor attached to ti... I'll be ok for a while. I'll keep the Sentinel busy... you do what you can once you're masked up...
Roll: Who gets the initiative in this fight. Jack has set himself up well. The defense bot works on home turf. 75 or lower is needed to get the initiative. Roll a d100 and only post the result.

The Squad Leader looks up at the vents, no time to tell you his name, his eyes widening. "Shit!" He scrambles deeper into the armory, frantically searching for respiratory gear.
At this moment the door bursts inward with a hydraulic hiss. A sleek, quadrupedal form lunges through, its plasma core casting a green glow across polished armor plates. Targeting systems lock onto the Squad Leader with crackling, electrified projectiles deploying - but you've got the drop on it.
Your nanobots pulse in anticipation, electromagnetic shield humming in your left hand, EMP rifle gripped in your right. The plasma rifle the Squad Leader tossed lies untouched on the floor next to you.
How do you strike first?
