Robert Hyatt mentioned he used 0x88 in Cray Blitz, and changed to bitboards in the 1982-83 time-frame.

^ basically we have an assembly language for playing chess that happens to map quite well to BSV 0.1.1 and DeOS registers/txs/addrs atop BTC and BSV.
