My review of Star Wars IX: Rise of Skywalker
It, and the 7-9 trilogy, is high budget fan fiction.
As its own trilogy, I'd give it a B for action and visual effects.
I'd give it a D for a Star Wars trilogy.

They should have stopped after the first trilogy. I couldn't help but feel like a sucker for sitting through this one with the kids and hubby (and being subjected to highway robbery at the concession).
The trilogy was messed up from having two different visions from two different directors. Rise of Skywalker, get's a bit of a pass for that, in my opinion.
I really enjoyed the visual effects and acting. The high budget fan fiction, is always a plus...
...from me. I guess, it's true, "quantity has a quality all it's own".
It certainly does taint the experience when something you love is followed up by something that is disrespectful to it.
Much of what felt wrong about Last Jedi to me felt wrong in Rise of Skywalker. I don't believe director vision/style has as much to do with it as the writing itself does.
The writing felt like it was driven by amateurs. Not horrible, but not great.
