With respect: my experience with Joy and Goodness, when connected to value, is that they become the sweet scent masking the scam. It's easy for individuals to compromise or confuse their definitions of Joy and Goodness in the fever of sharing them with other people. So, unless you've arrived at lasting and resilient definitions of those terms, for yourself, you risk misleading others, or going on a chase for someone else's hazy definition of Joy and Goodness. Most people are well intended. In my experience, though, it is very rare for someone to be sincere with their altruism. This is because being altruistic likely carries an ulterior motive of glorifying self image, and when the game is on the line, the self-image default wins out. An altruist who is aware of this conundrum, and is still willing to pursue their cause, has a good chance of being effective.
