Do you remember when the debate was whether we should allow GPTs to access the internet?! About, what 18 months ago, if that? Look where we are now. We for sure have a death wish as a species, or at the very least we're pretty fucking cavalier with AI safety.

hehe, we disagree! i am much more worried about over-regulation than ai doom. i do think there will be challenges to overcome just as with any new tech, but i think the fear of an ai overlord are a mistake

one sanity check i like to use is to ask how many people have died from ai? people are doing a lot of speculating and theorizing, but, at least so far, the measurable harm has been relatively tiny
Unless, of course, The Bitcoin Singularity is true and it has killed millions ;-)
