I remember in 2017 when Elon proposed the idea of Neourolink.
I thought it was great, and we're seeing people with the chip inserted who can now transmit their thoughts to a screen, without moving. They can chat, play games, browse social media.
In those years, I used to ask for the ability to save smells, like we save images. Those that transport us to a person, a place, a moment.
Smells, like music, revive our brains.
We've seen people with Alzheimer's not remember anything and then remember a song, or people recover from a stroke by hearing a song.
There's still progress to be made, but we're on the right track. !nb

If brain waves can be detected with good resolution and accuracy, then it might be desirable to visit such a facility that can take a snapshot of one's brain activity for future reference. Maybe that data can then be used with a Neuralink or Neuralink-like microchip as if it was an external brain. Many downsides with this suggestion, such as mangled memories, but if the user becomes really demented then the upsides weigh more.
