Religious people are well advised to remember that they have an ego too.
Whenever I hear "if you don't believe exactly as we say, you go to hell" I assume that the true religion of that person is the religion of ego: control, delusion of grandeur.

Consider that the person just loves you and wants the best for you, by telling you what the Bible says:
“And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.”Jude1:23
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”Romans 10:14
I think the Bible is a source of great wisdom.
But those who take it literally should probably first of all explain why they all come to different interpretations if this is literally God's word and not a book written by a bunch of jews, some of which were very wise and deep.
Some Christians think your works don't matter at all, only that you accept Christ, which you can only do if God sends you the holy ghost.
That's wild.
I like the idea of a "true myth".
Christianity is a very deep and profoundly true myth.
I just can't stand all the "we are chosen and saved" people.
Nothing differentiates them from the "we are awake and enlightened" new agers.
