I was recently into Cypherpunk 2077 gameplay and made it to the part where I confronted the scientist about the chip with the engram of Jonny Silverhand (aka Keanu Reeves).
What this game told me about the future is wild and I didn't expect a story and a game to be so massive.
Some people say that video games or series are a waste of time or intruders of your thoughts and want to reprogram you. Not for me, because if you can look from above and see what the intention behind content and history is, you get to know the artist.
Cyberpunk is probably the best story and atmosphere I've ever gotten into. It set me off to blow people's limbs with the space created and atmospheric extension. It made me look very strongly and hatefully at a world that is not even far away from ours today.
This world is not only increasingly evolving towards complete corporate control - we are also advancing in the field of biohumane integration of hydraulics into human architecture. Just think of Neuralink and modern prostheses.
But what fascinates me most is the character "Jonny Silverhand." He is the ultimate freedom fighter out of good faith, but the matter has a catch. Even Jonny realizes during the quests that 50 years after his death, many followers/fans did not understand the statements in his lyrics at all.
While people like him draw attention to problems with words and actions, too many people remain unaffected by true facts because they are dependent on other professions and live their own disillusionment. Violence leads to more violence, death brings contempt and a desire for revenge.
For this insight, I appreciate the series Arcane and the game Cyberpunk 2077, the biggest social works for me alongside films like Joker and Hacksaw Ridge.
Each of these works shows in its own way how we can influence this world in our own way with our own actions and how others change us through our perception.
I can recommend these titles to anyone interested in psychology, sociology and mindset to immerse themselves in the various approaches in an unbiased way.
