The reason I am not doubling my holdings in BSV at this time is my concern that the Consumer market could be hung out left to dry by the current go-to-market 'strategy', which just has stung millions of early-adopters in their minds, rightly or wrongly.

what I am really getting at, is if this strategy includes spending $1Billion dollars in advertising to consumers about apps over 2021-2022, I am on board with that.
Looking at the BA messaging, I don't see anything that says consumers are the priority.

It looks like the nChain crowd is going for enterprise sales, showing them how much money/risk they can save by using fancy crypto-fu. So, they don't care about consumer channels necessarily. Which is very helpful for SV, consumer customers are for us.

So, I think you're right, the consumer push isn't coming from on-high, it has to come from the grassroots. One of the most attractive things for retail crypto seems to be the price, maybe we need to borrow some of BTC's tricks?

Maaaaybe... I understand his angle, I think. The metric I want to use from now on, to determine whether something is good or bad, is transaction production, and amount of fiat turned to BSV. Simply because it is simple and honest, and hard to fake.

Remember early BTC, though? All the FUD. Was a low, low price for a very long time. Then Mt. Gox drama ... people said and believed it would never take off. BSV at least has the advantage of people being even mildly familiar with crypto.

General awareness of crypto is an advantage for sure, but not one unique to BSV. It's a bad spot to be in, if BTC has to fail in order for BSV to succeed. BTC did well partially because it got all the low handing fruit, that @15384 alluded to.

Dont know that I would say BTC must necessarily fall for BSV to succeed. If CW is not insane, BTC need only change its name and prove its own utility - which in all fairness could certainly be speculation only if the market will accept that.

But it seems to me that the main original idea is one of meritocracy and utility. Why that threatens BTC and its exchange backers, one can only guess ... It should threaten no one but scammers to see BSV be truly successful on a large scale.

It's true the slappy fights are not helping BSV. I'm not sure CSW's own words are helping. Marketing certainly would help, but word-of-mouth is also still the winningest marketing. BSV needs a big hit. A real home run that will have doubters shunning FUD.
