The reason companies resorted to subscription models to capture value is because pay-per-use microtransactions were never possible as non-custodial services before BSV.

Subscriptions can exist but they’ll be as rare as all you can eat buffet restaurants.

Subscription model is better than pay per view/use for many cases.

It’ll be hard for microtransactions to rule over it.

For me personally the only subscriptions I don’t mind is charity to individuals.

Charity as subscriptions where willingness to make a commitment is easier than up-fronting a larger cost. It really comes down to mental tx costs user side.

I’ve no elaborate at hand but take eg VOD is much more successful than PPV.

If you ask me I’d rather pay subscription to streamanity and tip authors or pay some additional fee for the live/exclusive content than pay every time.
