If you're worried that BSV data can be pruned and you think it's valuable for all data to exist indefinitely, you should operate an archival node.

If you can't keep up with the network, that's your fault, not the network's fault.

My understanding is that users can just choose to archive their own data and serve it to others via a node if they like.

Users perhaps incentivized to own their data in the future.

Is there a good explainer on how this is expected to function?

That is certainly one possibility, and they can prove that data's integrity through Bitcoin, too.

I think the specifics are not yet implemented anywhere. The foundations are being built, though.
