My co-director is a talented coder, but is out of his comfort zone with coding the bitcoin back-end. If we could get some help with that, we’d move ahead much faster. I send him resources from time to time, but he could do with an intensive 2 day course.

Has he looked at @21795 ? It really is quite a platform to start on that works allow him to leverage his existing javascript skills. It really greases the skids on learning Bitcoin development.
