Question: Most of the users will be here for potential $ - but they also need to put in $ to begin in the first place. This is a big barrier. What's the solution?

Spread the word to peers... esp those who want to capitalize on their art instead of posting for free on Twitter. Let them understand the way this works.

Twetch ·

Don't you think supporters already have existing methods? Patreon is a good example.

Twetch ·

Would love to hear your input on this @pak

Twetch ·

Why not go full billionaire mode and credit new accounts with something like $1

Twetch ·

I think allowing to use a credit card, cash app, PayPal, Venmo etc and users need not know anything about bitcoin will help reduce that friction

Twetch ·

To remove the barrier, there could be an initial $ given to each account (~10USD?) - Once/if the user makes $ using the initial $, they can cash out the extra, not the initial AND only if they cashed in at least once more than the initial.

Improving on boarding so users can get the first few posts for free

Twetch ·

My assumption: The real potential user base will come for $ - but in reality that $ is from other users. Therefore, while some earn, others will lose as Twetch isn't creating $ from air. Shortly, losers will leave, income will vanish.

I am buying another 400 BSV to give away as we speak.

Invite links that come with an initial balance of 20 cents

Twetch ·

@pak this is incredible feedback I will take back to the team

Twetch ·

Pak I think you make good points. But also keep in mind that Twetch can't be arbitrarily censored like Twitter. The fact that it isn't free also reduces noise and social manipulation. There are upsides regardless of monetary incentive.

@1494 💯

Twetch ·

I use a similar system to value the interactions of @2877 - where she tries to play her cards to the trusted higher-value-audience.

*this* [https://twetch.app/t/cc159c837f28f35486e78d9844a54e62c37303918790435c2d2e095b58b61122] is an estimate of the distribution of bitcoin in 2014

Twetch ·

Similar structure can be used this way: Everyones interactions would cost based on their influencer scores. The most basic version of this could be follower count.

Twetch ·

Also, to add gamification even more, users can place "treasures" in their own accounts to increase their visitors/likes/comments - and those treasures can be claimed by the freeloaders* - not sure if that term is ethical at this point.

Twetch ·

@1264 you're right, but, censorship (related risk group) is another problem that should be taken care of. Even though the network does not censor the content government(s) can still block access.

Twetch ·

For instance a 10 follower person would pay 2¢ for a post and 10¢ for a like where a 1000 follower person would pay 6¢ for a post and 30¢ for a like (10^3).

Twetch ·

To make this even more charming here is an additional layer:
I always believed, in social networks, a like should have a different value* depending on its caster. For instance, an influencer's like is more valuable then a regular user's like.

Twetch ·

*this* [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q7FTjhvZ7Y] is relevant imho

Twetch ·

hint : we're going to suck all the value out of Google's Adsense platform and propagate the value to nodes that propagate the value to nodes

Twetch ·

Strange loop.

Twetch ·

A lot of good thoughts on this thread. Gamification and differentiating individual input values is key imo. All opinions are not of the same value.

Twetch ·

🧠

Twetch ·

gotta get back to coding, but imagine a scenario where you never have to add bitcoin... imagine *this* place capable of capturing your raw flow w/o pause (talking 1000s of inputs per day from "regular" users)

Twetch ·

^ nada : we don't actually need dns or http, and have the capacity to moon bounce txs

Twetch ·

imo a lot of adoption will come from speculative frenzy. Things like twetches as collectibles (NFT) and Reddit like categories being auctioned where owners/moderators profit from posts.

Twetch ·

Then there is the utility of incentivizing user actions which is an endless rabbit hole. Something as simple as a poll has many options. Pay for votes, pay to vote, pay to see results, pay to see individual votes, etc.

Twetch ·

@Pak I like your idea! It totally makes sense.

Twetch ·

remember, Twetch is free! to post on Twetch is not!

Twetch ·

Twetches can be earned through proof of work (micro-tasks and referrals for example)

Twetch ·

The likes and comments should cost only a penny

Twetch ·

Old fashioned Mexican knife fights

Twetch ·

A Twetch costs 2 cents. If you provide information which others value, then you can get a few likes easy. And then build from there.

The cost barrier is very very low.

Twetch ·

Increase community, decrease the cost for everything. Portion of a cent per action so people would't be counting the cost.
Make a sponsor fond that is used for new posts. If it's empty you have to use your own. Still there should be posting day limit.

Twetch ·

@2878 while patreon does exist... it mainly uses the USD. Over on this side we use BSV which overtime and adoption will grow. Does that not sound exciting?

Twetch ·

How about implement different tier membership incentives to add on to the comment more followers more pay to post gamification thing. Could be a membership tier as well

Twetch ·

To add to the comment " gamification ; " users with more followers could pay more " , like a tiered incentive per capita audience , also could do a tiered membership account as well . Example like 3 tiers (cost $) = higher incentives

Twetch ·

MoneyButton will eventually be giving out BSV to new users.

Twetch ·

Let’s make the dopamine notification addiction the purest drug, money.

Twetch ·

Btw for $0.02 I notified 17 users, imagine if this thread had hundreds. That’s an attack vector against long threads.

Twetch ·

@6 ur heads in the right spot hopefully *REDACTED* will make this much better in terms of incentives for all users
