Question for all Twetch users: I own 11 different PayMail…

Question for all Twetch users:

I own 11 different PayMail addresses that I hope to sell someday.

Has anyone ever actually sold one of their PayMails and if so what was the PayMail address and how much did you sell it for? If TMI, a Y/N is appreciated

My guess would be actual current market value ranges from $10-$100 as it's a new product still.

Most names are priced way higher, so I'm guessing they're "hodling" for the long haul.

Twetch ·

It's funny, but good point. I could definitely see it paying off in the long run if the service reaches mass adoption. I've seen some PayMails priced ridiculously high, and someone squatted on @kenji, which I wanted really badly.. but not bad enough @ $25.

sold "france" for $100 been funding my twetch for a while

Paymail can be added to any domain. Long term the price will trend towards zero

Twetch ·

@Brendan I understand that Paymail can be added to any domain, but you've stumped me with your assertion that specific Paymail price will eventually trend to zero. If you don't mind me asking......How so? (if you can fit it inside 256 chars) lol

Twetch ·

I think if moneybutton itself becomes a global fixture, then the price will not trend towards zero. Quite the opposite. Domain additions do matter though & that impacts many paymails...

Twetch ·

That's what I was thinking @astronomydork. Maybe @Brendan mistyped? I don't want to misconstrue what he's saying, that's why I asked for some clarification. I just lowered prices on all my Paymails. They're probably not worth as much as many people think..

Twetch ·

In time you’ll get paymail with your Consumer email, your work email, your website that has its own domain. Is there a market for gmail addresses?

Twetch ·

Moneybutton made a fun and cool example of how easy it is to set up a marketplace with BSV, but if you think you’re going to be able to buy a lambo one day because you squatted on 300 addresses, i’ve got news for you.

Twetch ·

I think I have some i reserved for my daughter. I might also have "teragigs", "gigamegz" and "svnode" but I'd have to check. I've not sold any but can't remember if I have them for sale or not.

Twetch ·

Brendan is right about the market for gmail addresses.
How accurate of a comparison is it? Apples 🍎 to oranges 🍊 or grapes 🍇 to wine 🍷?
I’ll look in the mirror a bit & see if I’m being biased. I might be.

Twetch ·

There is likely a black market for hacked/phished gmail accounts. But a legit market for gmail might work, I would pay a small amount for my firstname. I would then get even more erroneously routed email messages.

Twetch ·

Let’s be honest too. Squatting isn’t building. It’s right place right time. I’d rather earn my retirement...

Twetch ·

Yes I have sold several, all first names. All for around $4-$9.

Only first names have some value IMO, anything else is worthless.

Twetch ·

Thanks @Brendan for added explanation :) @astronomy Totally agree, feels counterintuitive. Didn't initially think it through pre-purchase & I now feel silly spending the $11 tbh. @root For gmail sure, but a black market for Paymails is highly unlikely! lol

Twetch ·

@Joshua Right. And even then, if you bought your Paymail for X amount of BSV/USD and it really has Zero value, you likely will actually end up owning a worthless Paymail, or selling your Paymail for a loss in BSV/USD value. Catch 22. But muh Paymails are $

Twetch ·

$100, the rest I forget. But I do remember @ryanxcharles took $30

Twetch ·

I paid $5 for Brendan, but when I learned people were trying to sell them for several hundreds of dollars it just got stupid. If you want a paymail to be worth something, attach it to a set of content on the metanet and build a market for that content.

Twetch ·

Japan for 1.3 bsv audi for 1 bsv and a bunch more. Id have to spend hours looking

Twetch ·

bsvacceptedhere@moneybutton and a bunch of other really good ones metanetradio, metanetmusic, arts, artwork, graphics they were $1 at the time so i grabbed em. my real intention is to transfer to them to someone with some worthy projects.

Twetch ·

@Brendan gets it. This is like trading e-mail addresses. Fun experiment, but squatters will get rekt long term. Dump them cheap ASAP, time is not a friend in this game.

Twetch ·

Yeah I got a few first names that I sold between $10-$75. Last one sold was 3 days ago

Twetch ·

Hmm seems as though purchasing names was the winning ticket. Thanks for the response, that’s pretty cool some of you were successful! I hope mine sell but I’m not holding my breath lol

“These people are not name squatters, they are name brokers. Their incentives are aligned with getting the right names to the right people, exactly like how the market handles distributing resources of any kind.”

Twetch ·

Im squatting on a lot of good names. I haven’t been rekt. i have spent .7 BSV buying and made over 4BSV so net 3.3BSV

Twetch ·

Nice, Steve. Glad to hear! @Stein I think you have a good point. You're truly a broker in this if you claimed some very unique Paymails. About 1/4 of mine have a chance in hell to sell ->drumshop, fleamarket, swapshop is a small sampling. lol rekt. Wuh'llc
