yes, the audiences are all already there, but also they don't have to fiddle with too much. just plug and go.

also it's like twitter but here because of threading you can actually back up what you have said... you might even be expected to.

I think that ethos change matters. you can do that kind of thing on twitter, but it wasn't intentionally designed that way and the community rewards shitposting more than anything else.
