Is it to search/index/serve data faster back to end users?

It's to have a one in gazillion-cubed chance of winning a block reward. Or if you can find sufficient space to put the bread above your graphics card, it's to make nice slow cooked toast. If these are features you don't desire, don't use GPU mining.
