you were to own nothing, eat bugs and be 'happy'.
thanks to operation warp speed, the entire plot played out much quicker than originally planned, making it much more obvious that there was indeed something planned on a global scale. this prevented that plan from actually working. and here we are, exposure of corruption and criminality on a grand scale and the plot thwarted.
