Peter Todd doesn't admit that small blocks are the problem but does say Lightning and Layer 2s take fees from miners.
Demurrage is an interesting concept that could be sold to the BTC crowd as paying for security.
BCH and BSV face a similar transaction fee replacing the mining reward subsidy.
BSV could replace the subsidy in the future, BSV could also easily increase in price to compensate for the halvings.
If BSV doubled in price over each of the next 8 halvings or 30 years the spot price would still only be around $8,000 per coin.
BTC doubling in price for each of the next 8 halvings or 30 years would need to reach a spot price of $16 M per coin, the numbers get really ridiculous after that.
Interesting and crucial discussion for BTC, BCH and BSV
