Planned Some Wild Bitcoin SV Marketing Ideas with a Guy from New Zealand
I had one of those conversations recently that gets your creative marketing brain spinning in all kinds of directions. Bruce Thompson from New Zealand reached out and we ended up doing a whole show together brainstorming marketing strategies for Bitcoin SV, and let me tell you, some of the ideas we came up with are pretty out there.
I talk about how the biggest challenge we face isn't technical or even financial. It's education. The market right now just doesn't get it. When most people hear "Bitcoin," they automatically think BTC, and they have no idea that the original Bitcoin design actually lives on in Bitcoin SV. That's a massive communication problem we need to solve.
Bruce came up with some genuinely bold ideas that made me laugh but also made me think. Picture this: a billboard right there on the San Francisco Bridge that just says "BTC Can't Scale." Or even better, his idea about having someone dress up as a clown and stand outside the MicroStrategy building with a sign saying the same thing. I mean, it sounds crazy, but sometimes crazy gets attention, and attention leads to conversations.
I dive into why I believe Bitcoin SV adoption is absolutely inevitable. The question isn't if it'll happen, but when. Left to natural market forces, this could take centuries. But that's exactly why we need to be proactive about marketing and education. Our job is to speed up that timeline significantly.
The thing that really struck me during our conversation is how much work we have ahead of us. People think blockchain technology and Bitcoin are the same thing as BTC, and breaking through that misconception requires some serious strategic thinking. We can't just rely on the technology being better. We need to actively educate people about what Bitcoin was originally designed to do.
