Pet peeve, as someone who has to (partially) manage the brand for the company I work for: when people give verbal assent to direction offered and then go off and do their own thing.

If you disagree with a guideline, then offer pushback. Maybe the guideline will change! There’s less chance of a guideline changing, at least, if you never say anything.
