Based on the search results, it appears that Bill Cooper did spread false information and conspiracy theories about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Some key points:
1. Cooper claimed he had found a "secret document" detailing a 1954 treaty between President Eisenhower and aliens, which he linked to JFK's assassination [8].
2. In his book "Behold a Pale Horse", Cooper asserted that JFK was assassinated because he was about to reveal that extraterrestrials were taking over Earth [8].
3. Cooper promoted a conspiracy theory that JFK's driver, William Greer, was the actual assassin, using a "gas pressure device developed by aliens" to shoot Kennedy from the driver's seat [4].
4. Cooper claimed to have discovered a "top secret" video of the assassination proving his driver theory, but analysis found it to be "a poor-quality fake using chunks of the Zapruder film" [4].
5. Cooper's claims about the JFK assassination have been thoroughly debunked and are considered false conspiracy theories not supported by evidence [8].
6. Cooper was known as the "Godfather of Modern Conspiracies" and his work inspired conspiracy culture, but his claims about JFK and other topics are not considered credible by historians or researchers [10].
So in summary, Bill Cooper did spread false and unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about the JFK assassination, which have been discredited. His claims are not supported by the historical evidence or official investigations into Kennedy's death.
AI isn't very helpful here.
But if you search for Cooper voicing doubts about the veracity of the documents that somehow landed on his desk, you'll find something.
It's been a very long time since I dug into this, and I wouldn't be surprised if the memory hole had swallowed some of it, but I'm pretty sure he's on video talking about it.
yea... i never trust ai take on a first pass ... trained on false narratives

Don't get me wrong. Cooper was a great guy. He built the biggest non-state intelligence agency on his time (or ever?) they even infiltrated the freemasons.
But it is a fact that he was used by the government to plant false narratives.
I still recommend his Mystery Babylon series. Good stuff.
He is also the only person who predicted 9/11 he said there would be an attack and they would blame it on O.B.L.
Later on Alex Jones claimed he predicted it. AFAIK that's a lie and I think he even created a fake video to prove it.
As far as I'm concerned, they killed Cooper and replaced him with Jones. They realized that conspiracy theories had to be managed and went from the "feeding false narratives to real researchers and whistleblowers" model to the "let's just put one of our guys directly in charge" model.
