When people in say "it doesn't matter who Satoshi is," they don't really mean that.
What they really mean is "It matters very much that we never know who Satoshi is because it would be bad for Bitcoin if Satoshi was someone we didn't want him to be."

I can’t relate with feeling like Satoshi has to conform to my worldview.
I’ve always felt like that was a weird leap that people take.

Me too. And I've also never related to the idea that Satoshi needs to be right about anything other than bitcoin.

If u say a relevant guy does 'not matter' for ya (any more) - it tells us that it turned out u are not really alined with that guy and u get ready to bash his ideas at next step.

Everything Satoshi wrote is clearly from someone "core" doesn't want Satoshi to be. So in that sense it is accurate, from their perspective, that the identity is irrelevant -they must fight him/her/them regardless

I've thought about this one, and it's important to know who it is *when* you don't know all possible implications and outcomes following the design. Even then it can go wrong as things are subject to corruption (btc being only a low level of such case).
