Only people who feel an allegiance to a country will fight for it.

"Exit" as a popular strategy tells us that global citizens who can move anywhere, and multicultural communities unconnected to each other, are not conducive for building strong nations.

Sovereign nation states with a society of people with homogeneous cultural values (and often homogeneous ethnicity) build the strongest nations. Disrupt that and things destabilize. Welcome to Western-Europe.
