People in 1770 were so bad ass. They actually understood civil disobedience & how to stand up to the government without using violence. If people today understood what was really going on, we would all be dumping tea into the harbor with each other.

I am 99% sure the Boston Tea Party amounts to the same kind of destruction of private property that political eggheads were sparring over for the past few months following the riots in the US.

Totally disagree. I live in Minneapolis & there are still people here struggling from the damage that was caused by the riots. Dumping tea in the harbor is not on par w/ causing billions in damages to small businesses. The Boston tea party was not a riot.

You’re just splitting hairs on what private property is “allowed” to be destroyed as a form of political protest. I get it, the destruction you live amongst is more real than old political displays that have basically become folk tales.

But you seem to be saying we are using the wrong kind of violence and destruction. That the destruction of the Boston Tea party is better and we should be doing that instead? Seems like a contradiction to me.
