One problem with Twetch is that nobody wants to have a conversation🙄

I have seen some conversations and participated in a few. I do think it isn't easy to find good conversations though. They don't necessarily show up in the Top links and there isn't a way to find them otherwise, unless you search and happen to stumble on
Many people use Twetch to try and make money instead of just socializing in my opinion
That is very true, at least at this stage of twetch's young life. I don't think it will always be true though, necessarily, but that is the question that remains to be answered. If not, then twetch's model really isn't viable as-is, imo.
It's hard to find things worth commenting on among all the $handle/giveaway spam, inspirational quotes, one-liners and whatever people post to try to make some pennies. The fact that posting costs money might also be discouraging for people.
100%! Twetch's business model is supposed to get rid of the spam tweets/twetches but the majority of what I see are $handles. They need a comment section where user's comments don't end up on everyone's feed.
Most people aren't gonna walk away richer from Twetch due to the cut Twetch takes and there being a pretty steep starting cost. I spent like $10-15 in a few days adding followers and posting my first interactions, but only have about $4 in earnings so far.
The platform seems to favor creators -- which is fine, good creators deserve to be rewarded -- but for "consumers" it doesn't seem sustainable unless you're happy to spend a little bit of your disposable money every month.
If it doesn't work for consumers, it ultimately won't work for creators either
It is a bit ironic that one of the intended consequences of pay-per-post seems to not only *not* alleviate the spam problem, but in some ways exacerbates it.
A couple other things that make sustaining conversation clunky:
* difficult to see sub-conversations
* can't click a link to branches of any particular @852
* difficult to navigate back to an interesting conversation other than via notice or own posts
I love that there are no ads but many people don't care that much and would rather use a free social media platform. A cool idea would be a subscription based model. $1 a month to use Twetch or something. This would help get rid of scammers,
True. Viewing is still free, but I could see how it loses its appeal when you can't like, comment or follow because your wallet is empty. If the whales drained all the minnows then they'd probably leave as well since there's nothing more to earn.
Yeah, and that is where the partial share spread to several users is an intriguing strategy on Twetch's part. Remains to be seen if it will be sustainable, as already noted, but with the "rake", there will definitely be people re-upping to continue use
but would also allow for people to post more. This might be a more organic approach which wouldn't deter people from engaging in conversation.
I think the problem here might be that every post is an on-chain transaction, so at minimum there is the mining fee that must be paid. I honestly don't mind the pay-per-post and like most of what twetch is currently but tweaks may be in order. A/b testing
Yeah actually that is interesting. Maybe they could implement pay per post, which is an on-chain transaction, then make it free for other people to comment under that post. More people would engage in conversation and it would be more organized.
The tx fees aren't too bad imo, usually less than half a cent and they should keep decreasing as BSV grows. I agree A/B testing or tweaking in general could be useful.
Well thanks for the conversation, which will now be lost forever in the blockchain 😬
No, thank you! My first constructive conversation on here:)
Thanks, both! Haha nobody will ever find this back
I'm sure mores tweaks are coming. It's fun to participate in the evolution of twetch from the early days and won't surprise if major changes happen. I think likes used to be $0.10, per an old conversation I stumbled on deep down in the Top all time link.
Hmm... I see 14 response Twetches, 4 original twetches, and 2 branched twetches from you, with 4 followers and 5 following.
I think it's fair to say you are operating from a *very* small sample size.
My experience is entirely different.
