yes, there's that, which for me has a proof of stake-ness about it. Since contemplating what you've posted I started wondering about how to value proof of work in a social setting...
that then had me look at how I value conversations/people in other platforms. Generally I'll notice what somebody contributes to a conversation and want to hear how they've engaged in other dialogues... so I'll have a look at their other threads, generally listening for whether or not I resonate with their way of engaging to gauge where they're coming from. If I do want to learn more from then, I'll follow and start engaging.
It was going really well until covid... then I sat back to hear where people were at and started to prune my following list - and I could see others pruning theirs and disconnecting from me.
Interesting times.
