I am old enough to remember when conservatives feared government overreach, martial law, and masked government thugs in the streets asking for papers.
How did they turn into totalitarians fantasizing about martial law, or a military dictatorship?
The answer is obvious:
The exact same way liberals were turned into big pharma loving war-mongering anti-free-speech clowns: divide and rule.
The division and polarization has reached a level where both sides are convinced that the other side is so evil, that anything is justified to stop them.
But it's all fake. It's not left vs right, it's the apparatus and the Party against the people.
