Oh CRUD, is SaaS done as we know it?!
Create (a new record)
Read (extract info from the database)
Update (make changes to existing records)
Destroy (delete)
This is the base unit of interactions between an interface and a database. The way of business apps (bizapps) as we know them are endangered in an ai agent era. This SaaS exists on a thin UI layer, in "crud" databases. The entire application stack will either die or adapt, when all that is needed is an ai agent to interact with the core database structure.
What does this mean to the entire SaaS industry?
With a high rate of wins in ai developed apps, and preferences in demand for this finished product, the ai agent's only concern is within that core database to see through a tasks completion, with high efficiency, no friction, low costs, and easy accessibility. For example, do we need Excel?? What does this mean for Microsoft and its apps, as they focus on Co-Pilot and its further integration?
