I've used whatever I have had spare at the time. The copper rods are from Air conditioning piping.
The quartz amplifies the frequency but is optional.

I read something about it and remember that the height somehow matters: the higher the more energy.
Also the direction. I saw something like copper in north-south direction and zinc in east-west direction.
