The problem is most people "joined" the World Wide Web way beyond the moment the Silly Con advertisement model was implemented in their platforms and so they don't know any better.

And even more worrying is that when you explain them how the Internet (before the World Wide Web) through the use of BBS worked as a true P2P network and that we have to go back, they call you (me actually) "a dangerous anarchistic lunatic that lives in an imaginary revolutionary dream world".

Even showing them articles (as old as from the late nineties) from/with Robert Cailliau expressing his critiques on the reliance on advertising-driven models and as an alternative proposes micropayments to foster a "free information market" that could sustain content creation without concentrating economic incentives in a few platforms, they still don't get it.
