In the next CSW interview I want the interviewer to ask him how BitCoin can work as a single ledger uniting Earth, Moon & Mars despite the current communication delays.
Also would like to hear @24's opinion

It only takes about 2 seconds for light to travel from the moon to the Earth, so people can use Bitcoin on the moon. It takes more like 1000 seconds for light to get from Mars to the Earth, so Marsians would always be one block behind if they used Bitcoin.
I think it might be more efficient for Marsians to use an altcoin.
Interesting thanks. This is assuming that 51% of hash is coming from the earth right? because if 51% of hash were coming from Mars, then it would become the Earth that is one block behind (but sounds unlikely to happen).
also do you think they could make an altcoin that accepts 0conf on Mars but uses the security of Bitcoin from the Earth ? Like having their own PoW chain for 0conf on Mars that is saved to Bitcoin every 10-20 minutes, or something else ?
The starship could run their own verified (miner id) full node, it collects "martian marked tx's" & broadcast them towards earth. Instead of getting full blocks from earth, a starship blockchain is built with only "linked" tx's answered to save bandwidth.
If Mars creates an altcoin that is separate from BitcoinEarth, what happens when humanity gets to faster-than-light communication (like quantic intrication) and we now have 2 bitcoins competing for humanity's network effect: BitcoinMars vs BitcoinEarth ??
