Not to mention being a high risk factor for heart disease, which as everyone knows is one of the leading causes of death in the "civilized" world, if not the leading cause.
More evidence for you to consider, @385
Except that the value proposition of the keto diet has never been to improve athletic performance.
The fact is that carbohydrates are addictive performance enhancing drugs with severe side effects, and are best avoided completely.
That's a completely inane statement. Carbohydrate is beyond a shadow of doubt the body's preferred fuel for numerous reasons, as well as the preferred substrate to create its own fats. To the contrary, people are addicted to their terrible carnist habits.
So I guess our current fat and diseased population, which also happens to be carb fueled, is just a coincidence.
The only “good” thing about carbs is that they’re cheap to produce and make full. They’re the equivalent of fiat currency for health.
The current fat and diseased population is fueled by a diet heavy in protein, fat, processed grains, and refined sugar; the diametric opposite of a healthy diet, consisting almost entirely of healthy carbohydrates and a minimal amount of protein and fat.
