Yeah that would help maybe. Depending on what local means to you and what you fancy. I’ve become so inward. It might be a phase but I’ve had a couple few chapters (even very recent) of local politics and I disliked it almost as much as state, fed, global. But you can do a lot locally that isn’t political, very true. I’m more of the hermit in the tarot deck of late. Not to rain on anyone’s parade though! (GPT 4o did a pretty good job with this hermit!)

Ian Griggs book "identity cycle" had some good information for me with regard to local cs global.
Our brain seems to have capacity for only about 100-250 identities which we can remember and correlate to past experiences which we had with those identities.
So trusting someone who we've never met and who lives thousand of miles away is kinda naive. We have no experiences, memories or any kind of 1st hand data on them.
Preferring the real life screen over the virtual one makes sense. It needs less energy and therefore is more economical. Additionally reality and nature are seldom showing you fake content which fucks with your brain.
