The main reason for lifting the censorship restrictions could be, that AI would have been censored all the time as well.
To train AI and keep you engaged with it and with fakeaccounts where AI is behind, those restrictions had to be lifted.
With AI fakeaccounts, reach-restrictions and other moderation techniques it may look like the discussions are completely free and organic but in reality they are moneypulated again.
Maybe even more than before.
Before you were aware of censorship, now you have the illusion of freedom of speech.
I hope I am wrong here, but I have a hard time believing, that those restrictions have been lifted because of having no other choice or out of goodness.
The obvious reason would be, that there is something way better to control the narrative.
