Ok, I just found the public feed for the first time, lol. I'm an idiot. You can cross that one off the list at least.
metamitya ·
are you on the mobile app? mobile browser? desktop?
fronktology ·
Desktop. I'm not brave enough to attempt this on my phone yet. Baby steps.
metamitya ·
you can switch between 1 and 3 panels on desktop by pressing this in the top left
metamitya ·
you might find it easier
fronktology ·
That's a cool feature. I was finally starting to get used to the multiple panels, but you're right, this is probably easier. You guys have thought of almost everything. This is really an amazing accomplishment, and I'll be shocked if you guys aren't billionaires in ten years. Twetch team is getting lapped right now.
metamitya ·
thanks for the kind words. your feedback makes it possible

I'm only on Treechat mobile 80% and desktop 20%.
1. I have to revert to email notifications for replies. I never use the bell notifications in Treechat because when there are multiple replies I can't tell which I've read and which I haven't. This pulls me in and out of Treechat to get anything done, which is bad (just bad for me, I mean).
2. There's no place like home. Again, likely just me, but "home" doesn't feel like home. If I open the upvalue panel and tap my avatar under user, I feel that should be the default screen for Treechat, which persists (see image👇). The user panel remains at the top nearly always, and from it you can branch off into all the tabs and things. If starred posts would just appear there too at the top, it would be easier to quickly see the threads you're following.
3. My stream
https://app.treechat.com/stream/41758c8b-8fe4-4ac6-8fcf-ff328feb9fc7
I can pin project one thread to the top. Project two I can nest under project one if I give it an upvalue, but if I have 10 projects on the go I'm not going to be able to get one under the other.
In my stream, I would expect to see at the moment two contained threads: project one and project two. If you arrive at my stream you tap into a thread and scan down; instead, every post gets separated and ends up looking confusing to read. This will get harder and harder the more project threads there are.
TL;DR
Notifications: clear read/unread status on notifications (collapsed, grayed out, or bold/narrow font).
Persistent home page: (see image) the bouncing-off point for all activities. Maybe starred posts appear at the top too for quick retrieval.
Streams: threads in streams remain contained; multiple pinning to keep project threads, etc., in order.
Any feedback 🤔
