I'm helping with a 'Bitcoin for dummies' introduction piece and I only wish that Craig called the Bitcoin native script something other than "script". It doesn't help people understand a language called 'language'

won't there be top level languages built on top of script? isn't it forth based and therefore close to machine code?
There will be yes. Forth isn't machine code. But it is close enough such that compilers to machine specific assembly are relatively simple enough to implement.
